MIUI 10: My Experience

Xiaomi released MIUI Global Beta Stable Rom, the user interface is very nice and redefined. The volume and brightness panel is surely inspired by Android 9.0 Pie. The most interesting feature of MIUI 10 is the AI bokeh/portrait mode that enables user to create blur effect and snap portrait photos even on  the budget Xiaomi phones. But since the ROM is in beta the feature is not yet available to some Xiaomi devices.

As the motive of Xiaomi's MIUI ROM is speed, the ROM is optimized  to such a level that apps are fast, gaming is good even with the great skin. Thanks to AI preload.

Surely there's  some difference between MIUI 9 and MIUI 10, here are some:-

First of all talking about the new ROM the user experience is purely redefined than the previous version. The notification shade and quick settings is redesigned when opened it will blur the background along with Caller ID,well I was amazed with such beauty.

Secondly nature sounds, when I heard first it was much relaxing to hear the tunes, the respective sounds can be set as your notification sound, can be your alarm clock sound or your calender event reminder sound etc.

Thirdly, Recent Apps Menu, as said in the event to use the whole screen for more to view. The recent apps menu is visualized to display more info in a single screen the recent apps are displayed side by side which I think great. In MIUI 9 and in the previous MIUI versions the app is closed ny swiping vertically up, but the action is changed with this new optimed ROM now you have swipe left or right to close the recent app.
There is no Split Screen option is now displayed of the Recent Apps Pane, well that doesn't mean it is removed but improved  the  way to access it.
----Just open the recent apps pane click and hold in the app there pops out  three option of
i)App Info ii) Split Screen iii) Lock the app.
Select the Split Screen option then drag  the app up to split.

Fourthly, we get a quick option in the camera app is of bar code scanner. While you are away without cash in a restaurant snapping photos with your friends, the same app helps you to pay, and to get information about different things, well you know what bar code scanner is for.

Fifthly, we get a new feature in the Message App, Remember when you book a ticket from IRCTC an when you are done a message of ticket is displayed, also there exists a reply textfield but it is obvious that you will not reply to thank them. Instead there comes some options related to the IRCTC Ticket,
e.g. to check the PNR  status or directly go to the website etc.

At last, about the portrait mode, I have Redmi Note 4 and installed Global Beta ROM, I got only front portrait feature, guess portrait mode for rear camera is not released for Redmi Note 4. Anyway the front portrait photo is good but not good as pixel cam. I have rooted my smartphone and installed pixel cam with Camera2API enabled, I have snapped with both pixel camera and mi camera. Pixel camera clearly wins, I didn't find the front portrait mode of MIUI 10 interesting. I hope it may get better till the stable release.

So this was my experience with MIUI 10 Global Beta Stable ROM. Now the  Global Beta Stable ROM is available for following devices:-
